[AVIATION]. Aeronca and Lockheed Aircraft Corporations : miscellany of graphic advertising material, [c.1939 - 1941] Item #5960
2 brochures unfold to poster size; 2 sheets, 12" x 9" full page black & white ads; 3, 8.5" x 11" photographic color advertising sheets; all include b&w and/or color photos; ad copy. From the files of the Automobile Assoc. of Southern California, in whose journal, Touring Topics Aeronca advertised. The two full page b&w sheets are copies of ads for the magazine. The full color sheets are also probably file copies for ads, two are a duplicate Lockheed piece "Southern Hospitality in the Sky" and one is for Aeronca's, New Chief under its pre 1941 company name Aeronautical Corporation. One of two brochures, for the Super Chief, folds out to an attractive 17" x 22.5" display of the plane with an inset illustration of the interior. Reverse side also with photos & illus, a map, and specifications. The other brochure is similar in size and design for the Aeronca and its seven different power plants, from the Scout CG to the Chief 65-C. This brochure is marred however by a 3" x 7" cut-out affecting text on one side in particular. Other than cut - out brochure above, and some soil to cover of othe brochure, the rest is in very good or better condition. |
