Wonderful early Virginia City telephone document providing: "The subscriber requests Virginia Telephone Exchange to place in his premises Savage Office So. D St. Virginia Nev. telephone instruments as noted on the back hereof, and connect them for his use with the Exchange, until June 17, 1884, upon the terms and conditions stated above..." Savage Superintendent R.P. Keating is arranging for installation of "One Blake transmitter" and "One Hand-telephone." Charge levied for the service was a deposit of Twenty-five dollars and five dollars per month. Remnants of very old rubber-band on verso, couple of tiny perforations, else near fine. |
