Bronze, 18"x26.75"x10.5", No. 12/35 (Original sculpture 1936), color patina. Original sculpture commissioned by Emma Bunn, a Great Falls businesswoman and friend of the artist. In this energetic piece, Heikka captures the urgency of a relay between two Pony Express riders, as one hoists the heavy mochila saddlebags up onto his fresh mount. This bronze makes an excellent centerpiece, rewarding viewings from multiple angles.
