Watercolor over pencil sketch on board, 24"x17", inscribed & signed by the artist, matted & framed. [c. 1960s?]. One of the most beloved of western illustrators, Don Perceval's iconic figures can be found decorating countless books and magazine articles. This sketched out and partly painted overview of famous Arizona personalities was apparently a commission for Kaibab Buckskin, Inc. The piece is inscribed to Southwest researcher John D. Gilchriese, for whom Perceval created a painting of the famous street fight near the OK Corral. Fine condition. |
