Nos. CXXVII-XCCIX (Vol. XXII, pp. 1-432). Complete original issues in wrappers, illustrated with engravings on every page, in cardboard slipcase with cloth label. New York: Harper & Bros., 1860-1861. First Edition. First appearance of Browne's important firsthand account of early Nevada mining camps. The February issue also includes the beginning of Thackeray's "Adventures of Philip" and an interesting article on spiders. Wrappers heavily chipped over spines; first issue split along spine but still held together by original cords, also with 3" and 5" tears to front and rear covers respectively; about good condition overall.
