FIDELITY AND CASUALITY CO. OF NEW YORK. Color brochure advertising Railroad Accident Tickets Item #6645
7"x4", [4] pp., front and rear covers printed in four colors. New York, [c. 1890s]. Very nice pamphlet selling rail accident insurance covering anywhere from one day to one year of travel. "Accidents Do Happen. Delays are Dangerous." Includes a delightfully morbid list specific injuries ("Knee bruised in getting off train", "Shin cut by fall from sleeping-car birth") for which claims have already been paid. A niche of the insurance industry aptly skewered by Twain in "The Danger of Lying in Bed." Pin hole at one corner, otherwise near fine condition. |
