8vo; 158 pp.; cloth in dust jacket. Detroit: Harlo Press, 1966. First Edition, signed by the author. In 1834 a party of seven men were returning from the Black Hills to St. Louis with "all the gold they could carry on their ponies," when the party was attacked by Indians. Ezra Kind, the lone survivor, lived long enough to record their deeds on a stone, now called the Thoen Stone after the man who discovered it. Fine condition in near fine jacket.
