3 Volumes. Worthington Chauncey Ford, ed. 4to; 422, 438 & 432 pp.; marbled boards in three-quarter black morocco, with raised bands on spine and top edges gilt. Illustrated with engraved portraits and document facsimiles. New York: Wickersham Press, 1893-1894. Limited Letter-Press Edition, No. 10/350 copies. Samuel Blachley Webb was connected early on with the American Revolutionary cause, being scribe of the Committee of Correspondence in Connecticut. He first saw battle at Bunker Hill. Through connections and ability, he entered General Washington's circle, and at the age of 23, was appointed to command a regiment. Soon after, however, he was taken prisoner by the British. Released in 1781, he rejoined his regiment, and remained with it till the army was disbanded. Vol. 3 includes a 150-page Biographical Sketch of Samuel Blachley Webb. Slight of foxing to fore-edges; light rubbing or shelfwear to extremities; near fine condition overall, with several unopened pages.
