Thomas White Horse, a Hunkpapa Sioux veteran of the Little Big Horn, was 89 when Miller met him in 1940. After the Custer battle, White Horse went to Canada with Sitting Bull. He returned to the United States in 1881 and took part in the ghost dance religion in 1890. |
