Oil on canvas, 24"x18", signed lower left, framed. Beautiful portrait of Chief Frank Fools Crow's first wife, Fannie Afraid of Hawk. This canvas was in the personal collection of Iron Eyes Cody, who gave it to Mrs. Fools Crow's son Andrew Fools Crow in 1951. With Iron Eyes Cody's signed gift inscription on the back of the canvas. This painting was more recently in the collection of Western Artist David Humphreys Miller. We offer it here, together with an original studio cabinet card portrait of Frank Fools Crow at the age of 21, identified on the back by Andrew Fool Crow. |
