[HARRIS, Don]. General Philip H. Sheridan and His Staff Item #7709
33"x45", framed, unsigned. Digitally manipulated image printed on canvas board by large-scale graphic machine. [c. 1997]. This unique piece of artwork, commissioned by inventor Jan Coyle, was created by scanning the famous 1865 Matthew Brady photograph, and then using computer software to colorize Sheridan and his men and add in a period background and furnishings. The finished work was then transferred to canvas board by specialized printing equipment. The result is a highly stylized and colorful rendition of the original photo. |
