[PROMOTIONAL LITERATURE]. Souvenir of a Ride on the Ferris Wheel at the World's Fair Chicago, 1893.

9.5" x 6"; color pictorial cover; text; port. photo & 13 full page photographs showing the wheel and views therefrom. Chicago: The American Engraving Company. Promotional booklet for the 1893 World's Fair, the first appearance of the Ferris Wheel. Included in the text is a copied note from G.W. Ferris, the inventor of the ferris wheel, where he validates the booklet as a 'authorized publication'. The booklet includes a photo of G.W. Ferris, and the date '1898' penciled. Brief building description and general information is given. Photos of wheel are taken from each stop on ride. There is an image of the first stop - east view down the midway plaisance, the second stop - a higher view of the midway plaisance, etc. Several splits and chips on extremeties, string for binding missing, cover loose, with tape repair on front interior. Fair condition, complete thus.
