[Los Angeles]: [Privately Printed, From the Press of the Neuner Company], [1012]. Limited Edition. Mounted on the recto of dedication leaf is a presentation slip, with notice of limitation, copy no. 101, signed by the author. Recipient's name in manuscript pencil: To "Mary Galimore, April 4th, 1913," and extending below slip, "With tenderest love from 'Her' and me.. Mattie & John." Cowan, p.69. Graff p.61:390. The author describes his boyhood in Missouri; across the Rockies to Portland, 1847; stay at Whitman's Mission before the massacre; Santa Clara Valley in 1850, Fresno, Banking and Raisins in 1884, San Diego in 1887; and "my part in the battle for woman's suffrage." Slight foxing to dedication page.; very minor cover wear. Near fine. Appears to have become quite scarce.
