Clark, Americana Century 74. Northwest Historical Series XIV. "The Life of Lawyer during the years....is so closely intertwined with the political, historical, and cultural history of the Nez Perce tribe that one could say that his life story reflects the history of his tribe during these years." A friendly person, he believed that the destiny of his people could be best served through friendship with the white people. He believed in Christianity, and was one of the five members who welcomed with Whitman-Spalding party. Fine condition.
