... and I cannot tell when this letter will be forwarded to Victoria as we have no regular communication with the world during the winter. I shall therefore be brief. I shall write once or twice a month although I cannot say if they will be forwarded or not. My health is extremely good and I should be in very good spirits if I knew my parents were comfortable. I send my congratulations to John Bowes as I suppose he is married by this time. My love to George and kind regards to all inquiring friends.
