Holograph report on the Dunderberg Mine, Mono County, California, 1872 [continued]

[page 1]

[...] goes down. I do not pretend to say that I can see underground, but I will gamble on its going down. The vein that I spoke of above lays on the foot wall & we are running a cross cut, for the hanging wall we are in is 46 feet & have not got it yet. I don't know what we will get when we get across. It looks like that we may strike a big body of Ore, as we have got small shatters of quartz, and looks very well. I do not understand why Mr. Muncklon cannot obtain money to run this Mine in good shape, and if money cannot be obtained on this property we had all better stop mining. I wish you would show this to Mr. H. Martinon of 614 Merchant St., Room 26. Also G. H. Treadw[e]ll. I wish you would let me know if George H[e]arst is in San Francisco or not.

Yous Respectfully,
Nathniel Diamond
